EDINBURG - The Edinburg Cultural Arts Division and the Edinburg Arts Foundation invite the community to celebrate creativity under the glow of a midsummer evening at Sip & Paint: Firefly Fun, a paint-and-sip experience inspired by the magic of fireflies and summer nights. The event will take place on Friday and Saturday, June 5 and 6, 2026, at the Edinburg Arts, Culture, and Events (ACE) Center, located at 315 W. McIntyre St.

EDINBURG – The Renaissance Cancer Foundation will once again host its 6th Annual Purple Project 5K for All Cancers. The event is scheduled to take place at 8 a.m. on June 27, 2026, at the Firemen’s Park located at 201 N. 1st Street in McAllen. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Renaissance Cancer Foundation, a non-profit organization of DHR Health dedicated to helping local cancer patients facing financial hardship in their journey towards healing. Assistance programs include financial and transportation assistance, as well as free wigs and breast prostheses.

South Texas College invites students and the community to the 17th annual two-day ceramics event on June 10 and 11.
The South Texas College Art Department and Library Art Gallery will present the 17th Annual South Texas Ceramic Showdown: “Finding the Right Combination,” featuring the work of ceramic artists Laura Caroline Casas of Youngsville, North Carolina and Andy Rangel of Brownsville.

MCALLEN – South Texas College’s Veterans Affairs Office, together with Library Services at STC’s Pecan Campus is honoring the legacy of World War II veteran and illustrator George Withers through a special exhibit highlighting both the power of art and the often-unseen struggles veterans face after war.

LA GRANGE, TEXAS — The Texas Quilt Museum focuses on history and honor with their spring/summer exhibits. They include the juried exhibit My America…What It Means to Me to celebrate the country’s 250th birthday; Hooked On Presidents, which features hand-hooked rug portraits of U.S. leaders; and Old Quilts Made New, a passion project for Teresa Wong.
They will be on display April 30-August 29, 2026. Hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
